Priyamani rubbishes romantic link with Jagapathi

Asian Celebrity March 2nd, 2010

National award winning Priyamani has awesome screen chemistry with prime star Jagapathi Babu! And they have co-starred in a number of films like Pellaina Kothallo, Pravarakhyudu, Sadhyam and Baburao… Ninnodala! But does it mean that both actors have any relationships beyond professional boundaries?
Unfortunately, this is what a few Telugu newspapers and websites had written recently about the duo’s relationship. Annoyed by these reports, Priyamani dismissed all speculative and unsubstantiated reports, saying that they are figments of some ugly mind’s imagination.
“I acted with Jagapathi Babu in my first Telugu film, which became a big hit. Then I have acted with him in the recently released Pravarakyudu which has also been received well. My next release Sadhyam is also with him. But I have also acted with other heroes like Tarak (NTR), Ravi Teja and Nitin. Just because I have worked with Jagapathi in many films, you cannot link me with him. I enjoy a good friendship with him and there is nothing more than that,” she said.
Priyamani is now busy shooting for her second Kannada film Eno Onthara featuring Golden star Ganesh in the lead. The shooting is progressing in Chickmagalur. After the current schedule, the unit will move to Greece to shoot two songs.

Tanushree Dutta thinking of running away from bollywood

Bollywood Celebrity March 2nd, 2010

tanushr

After a promising start with CHOCOLATE and AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE, Tanushree Dutta could have played safe by picking up boy-meets-girl romantic comedies. However, she surprised many by signing a film like RAQEEB where she played a negative character. She is continuing the trend of being unconventional with twin release of ROKKK and APARTMENT round the corner.

One wonders though that while quite a few actors in the industry would have loved to have an image built around them, especially during their early years in the industry, shouldn’t she feel happy that courtesy AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE and CHOCOLATE, she had actually make a head start in this direction? In fact when one would have expected her to capitalize on this image, why is she even thinking of running away from it and doing something different?

"That’s not the case at all", protests Tanushree, "I am not running away anywhere. But then you know what, Bollywood has this tendency to slot you in no time and this is where I feel I need to show a different facet of my personality and acting caliber. A perception is built that you cannot perform or you don’t have a right to be in a film which is performance based. This is something what I wanted to change and I am glad that this has slowly but steadily happened."

None of her two new films belong to so-called ’safe zone’, don’t quite carry the tried and tested hero-heroine formula and are slightly experimental in appeal. However, one thing which is common between both APARTMENT and ROKKK is that both allow Tanushree ample opportunity to demonstrate her acting abilities. She does state that she isn’t consciously aiming to get rid of her sensual image. However, in the times when invention is the name of the game and more and more actors are looking forward to breaking the norms and doing something out of the box, Tanushree has indeed taken a bold step (albeit of a different kind) by announcing loud and clear that she is here to stay, though on her own terms.
