G V Prakash is the happening and in-demand music director. Not just in Kollywood, even in Tollywood.
G V is already busy with his Tamil projects, and yet he finds time to work on projects in Telugu. It is reported that G V Prakash has been chosen to compose the music for the sequel to ‘Chandramukhi’ in Telugu. Directed by P.Vasu, it will have Venkatesh acting in the sequel. Tamil plans for the sequel are yet to be decided.
Besides ‘Chandramukhi-2’, G V has also composed music for another Telugu movie – ‘Darling’, directed by Karunakar who used him earlier in Telugu movie ‘Ullasamga Uthsahamnga. This is what we call, exploring the neighbourhood! Way to go G V.
With his share of success in Tollywood, G V will join the likes of Devi Sri Prasad, Mani Sharma and Yuvan Shankar Raja, who all have a formidable presence in both Tamil and Telugu.

A Love Story In 2100 AD

Kollywood has probably got through various dimensions of love stories as almost every filmmaker has depicted it on their very own terms. Now, it’s time to witness a romantic tale set in backdrops of year 2100. Sounds interesting, isn’t?Titled as ‘2010il Oru Naal’, the film is produced at a big budget using the technological advancements. Turning lights on this film, director Hemanath says, “The film will speak about the different perceptions of love in year 2000 and in 2100 as well. We have planned to use certain technical attributes to shoot the portions of love sequence set in year 2100.”Dana cranks the camera for this film while Harish tunes melodies to the lyrics penned by Subbu. Apart from donning the lead role, Gowtham handles co-direction while Jothisha stars opposite him in female lead.It’s worth mentioning that Bollywood had previously attempted for a similar show in ‘Love Story 2050’ featuring Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.

SHANKAR SEES RAJINI AND KAMAL IN KB

Director Shankar is one happy man because he has brought the north and south poles of Kollywood – K Balachandar and Bahrathiraja – together for Rettaiszuhi, a film that is produced by his banner.The director-producer says that while producing a film, there would definitely be a happy element involved in it. In Rettaisuzhi it was the coming together of ace directors K Balachandar and Bahrathiraja.Shankar said that while observing K Balachandar during the shoots, he was thrilled to see traces of Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Prakash Raj in his acting.

Sarath goes to Bollywood

Even as his forthcoming Tamil film ‘Vidiyal’ hit the floors today, Sarath Kumar has made an announcement that he would act in a Hindi film by the end of July this year.
“All that I can say now is I’ll be doing a Bollywood film by July end. I will be working with two of the most respected filmmakers from the south,” says the president of the South Indian Film Artistes Association.
On ‘Vidiyal’, he says, “the film is jointly produced by Giriguja Films International Pvt Ltd and RRR Movies, my own production company which has just been launched. Directed by K R Selvaraj, the story travels between 1946, 1976 and 2010.”
Thanking Malayalam director Hariharan and scriptwriter M T Vasudevan Nair for taking him to Kerala audience with ‘Pazhassi Raja’, Sarath says, “They have opened new doors for me. I am now acting in two more films in Mollywood.”
Interestingly, the actor will also be doing a Kannada film titled ‘Sarathi’. “Though I am acting in Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada films, my area of focus will always be Tamil. I have many plans for Kollywood which you will come to know one by one.”

‘Siddarth recommended me’ – Padmapriya

Few actors purposely went away from Kollywood as the film industry here is brimmed with mass hero images and lots of egoistic approach between them. Actor Madhavan can be a perfect illustration and so is Siddarth, who just acted in couple of Tamil films and flew all the way to Telugu and Hindi films.
Actress Padmapriya, who recently made her Bollywood debut with ‘Striker’, says, ‘I must thank Siddarth for having offered me a role in his film. It was Siddarth, who recommended me afterwatching some of my films. I will continue acting in Hindi films only if I come across meaty roles. It’s not like other actresses just picking whatever they’re offered with…’
The actress has won laurels across all the regional languages for her commendable performance.

Parthiban Flags Off ‘Ethirmarai’

Kollywood seems to be picking the best tactics of promoting their films via transport mediums. For the past couple of years, the producers are spending lavish money on designing fantabulous buses patently for the sake of gaining more popularity to their films prior to release.‘Ethirmarai’, which was reported to be an edge-seated thriller started rolling before few months and is now ready for release. The film’s producer and director G Arun had invited Parthiban to flag off the promotional bus that an attractive look.The bus would travel across various parts of the state for the just intention of public glare. The promos over print medium does carries the taglines that ‘Ethirmarai isn’t a love story, action, thriller or whatever genre it maybe. But a completely unusual film with uncompromising plots’Let’s hope the film does well at box office and we wish the entire crew a grand success.

Shriya pays fine of 5 lakhs

Many times it happens in Kollywood that actors sign a film, take an advance and then delay giving dates. This drama is a nightmare to most of the producers. Even if the actors later decide not to do a particular film getting the already paid advance back is nothing less than an ordeal for the producers.
But Kathiresan who produced 'Pollathavan' was not the one to take it lying down. After ‘Pollathavan’ film Kathiresan signed Shriya for a film and paid her an advance of ten lakhs. But Shriya was not in the position to do the film and so delayed giving dates. Kathiresan waited for long to get alt least the advance money back from Shriya. After much struggle he took his case to Producers Council. Then after hearing both sides Shriya was asked to pay the advance of 10 lakhs along with a fine of 5 lakhs to the producer.
As both the Producers Council and Actors Council were involved in the decision the case ended with out fuss.

Shocking Friday: 3 Movies – First Show – 33 audiences

This is shocking and really puts us in an extreme shock for it hasn’t happened before. Friday – March 5 has become the most speculative day for Kollywood as all the released turned to be the most disappointing Friday. This isn’t a buzz, but a real fact that was witnessed some of theatres in Tamil Nadu.
Just as the title says – the first day first shows of three movies – Aval Peyar Tamizharasi, Veerasekeran and Bharath’s ‘Thambikku Indha Ooru’ had just 43 audiences in one of the prominent theatres of Tamil Nadu.
Aval Peyar Tamizharasi – 23 audiences and they had just come to theatres for the bannername of ‘Moser Baer’ as it ensures some quality movies.
Thambikku Indha Ooru – 12 audiences at a theatre and they were highly disappointed…
But the most pitiable of all is ‘Veerasekeran’ that had just 7 persons buying tickets and the show was cancelled.

Gowtham Menon to direct 3 more films

Director Gowtham Menon is well known for signing more projects at the same timewithout any intentions of completing them at time. It’s very much evident with his long-awaited project ‘Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikalam’starring Trisha, Nikita and newcomers was shelved on halfway.
Now, with the grand success of both ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’ and ‘Ye Maaya Chesavo’, director Gowtham has decided to shoot three projects at the same time. As known earlier, his untitled film with Sameera Reddy is close on the heels of completion while he has decided to choose Simbhu for his action-packed thriller. Gowtham himself has admitted that official confirmations will be made shortly and other one is the Hindi remake of ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ starring John Abraham and Bipasha Basu in lead roles.
Precisely, Gowtham should fill his sacs with big money as he usually does in Kollywood with producers’ investments and now in Bollywood, there’s no doubt about it.

DSP songs in Kamal film for first time

Even as he rules the roost in Tollywood, delivering hit albums after super hit albums, Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in as the music director by K S Ravikumar of Kollywood to score tunes for his Kamal Haasan starrer.
The film stars Madhavan and Trisha, apart from Kamal. This is the second time Devi is teaming up with Kamal, after ‘Dasavatharam’ for which he composed background score.
After ‘Mazhai’ and ‘Aaru’, and other hits, Devi is all set to dole out another musical hit in Tamil. It may be noted that the most-sought after Telugu musician is every young, but is creating waves in the biggest South Indian industry.
Never the one to spell out his dreams before the media, it seems that he is all set to take Kollywood too by storms in the coming years.
